Launch of Neil Morris For Takashimaya New York perfume!

Greetings-

We are launching the Neil Morris for Takashimaya New York fragrance on Wednesday with a breakfast for the media. In keeping with our value of our loyal fans, David and I would like to invite you to a sneak peak (or whiff in this case) the night before the official launch.

We will be at Takashimaya New York (693 5th Ave by 54th St) from 5-7pm this Tuesday September 23rd. Be the first to try this new scent that we think puts a whole new spin on the concept of East meets West.

I am so honored to have been asked by my friends at Takashimaya to create a scent exclusively for them. I wanted to create a scent that would encompass the beauty and serenity of the Japanese culture and also incorporate the stylish sophistication of Fifth Avenue.

Neil Morris For Takashimaya New York opens with top notes of Black Currant, Mandarin, Bergamot and Aldehydes for a sparkling and fresh introduction. Heart notes include Plum Blossom, Jasmine Tea, Japanese Cherry Blossom, Bamboo and Dossinia Orchid, accented with the passionate scent of Narcissus. A precious base note of Cedar is enriched with accents of Oak, Tonka, Orris and Oud for a warm, sophisticated finale.

If you would like I can sign your purchased bottle as well. David, Ida, Catherine, and I have been wearing this scent for weeks and it smells wonderful on both men and women!

Also, I would like to thank Abigail from “I Smell Therefore I Am” for the wonderful interview we did a few weeks back and posted on PerfumeCritic.com. http://perfumecritic.com/joomla2/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=381&Itemid=50

Great news on Vault fragrances!

Greetings-

We have some great news! Over the past several months our sales of the Vault fragrances has steadily increased. With this increase in sales we are able to buy our raw materials and supplies in larger quantities and discounted prices. We are also able to make them in larger batches increasing our productivity and efficiency.

As our way of saying thanks for supporting us we are passing on some of the savings to your our customers. We are reducing the price of our Vault fragrances from $150.00 to $125.00 for each two ounce bottle of Parfum.

Thank you so much for all of your wonderful support, terrific comments about our fragrances, and helping to offer our fragrances to a wider audience.

Best always,

David(Neil's business partner and friend)

Response to the Vault fragrances launch

Greetings-

Wow, what an amazing response we have received since launching the Vault! The number of sample requests in the first three days in particular was amazing and the word is definitely spreading. Thank you in particular to those who have deemed the scents FBW. When one person buys six full bottles in one purchase I can’t think of a greater compliment!

I also want to thank all of those who have posted such positive reviews of the scents on the various websites and blogs. We want to thank in particular our dear friend and perfumista (not to mention fashionista if you’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting her) Michelyn Camen, who was just recently snatched up by Grant at Basenotes. Michelyn is writing a regular column on niche fragrances. In her premiere column, she featured CafĂ©, Le Parfum C’est Ma Vie, and Swoon, all from our Vault collection - http://www.basenotes.net/columnists/20080617newinniche.html. Michelyn, the Karens at Sniffapalooza, retailers such as Takashimaya New York, and of course all the bloggers and perfumistas around the world, are instrumental in promoting the need and appreciation for the niche perfume industry, of which we are proud to be a part.

And speaking of Takashimaya New York, I was honored to be asked by our friends there to create a fragrance exclusively for their clientele. I’m not going to give away too much, but let’s just say it’s going to put a completely different spin on east meets west. With Neil Morris for Takashimaya New York I wanted to encompass the beauty and serenity of the Japanese culture and also incorporate the stylish sophistication of Fifth Avenue.

We will be launching it in early September. So stay tuned….

The Vault Fragrances Are Launched!

Greetings-

Ok, you asked for it! The Vault fragrances have been launched on our website! Well, some people might think it’s crazy to launch more than 40 fragrances at one time and have them only available on line. But true fragrance lovers from all over the world have told us (and proven) otherwise.

I keep hearing from perfumistas that they are clamoring for rare and unusual fragrances. I feel the same way! I used to travel all over looking for the scents that were not available at conventional fragrance counters. Well now thanks to the internet, we not only are able to create wonderful communities online where we can all share our passion for beautiful fragrances, we can also purvey and purchase scents with the click of a button.

The Memories of India series has some very exotic scents including Ghandara, that my friend Gabrielle flipped over two years ago. There are fragrances based on trips to Hawaii as well as Finland. Izmir was created after a conversation I had on MUA with Zekiye from Turkey.

I had Ida (Chaya) over for a visit last year and gave her a bunch of these scents for her to enjoy. She asked if I would mind if she sent some of them to friends knowing who would enjoy which ones. As I have learned, never underestimate Ida. Little did I know the extent of her global fragrance network! Suddenly I’m getting emails from all over the U.S., Italy, France, Holland, Australia, England, and Russia asking where these scents may be purchased. When David and I started this company we said we were going to listen to the fragrance lovers, to trust our instincts and do what you wanted. Not focus groups, not research companies, not industry-to-industry trends. Just you. So we hope you enjoy the Vault! You can order samples to try out the scents and hopefully you’ll find some FBW scents that are as unique as you are.

Enjoy!

Truly Blessed

Greetings-

Ok, so I’m going to be completely honest. This blog was not my idea.

Everyone I know said, “Neil you have to have a blog.” What I have realized as I continue to meet so many wonderful people on other blogs and community pages is that by having my own blog, I will have a central place for me, and at times my business partner and friend David, to communicate with everyone.

I have to start by saying how grateful we are to EVERYONE who has helped us get to this point. I am truly blessed with a wonderful family, a lifelong group of friends, and an incredibly supportive group of perfume aficionado friends. I know it can be dangerous to single people out, I mean no slight to anyone else, but I do have to thank Karen Dubin and Karen Adams from Sniffapalooza for EVERYTHING they have done for us and for the entire perfume industry, for that matter! Karen Adams is the queen of organization as the operations side of Sniffapalooza’s site and events. Karen Dubin is a master at networking. She not only knows the entire world, she is incredibly generous at introducing people that she knows “have to meet.” Thank you both so very much, you know how much you mean to David and me.

As far as the online community of perfume lovers, I am, and continue to be, blown away by how wonderful everyone has been and the beautiful reviews and comments you have written about my fragrances. For me, the sense of smell is all about connection. I don’t think of myself as creating “perfumes” as much as weaving stories through scent. The fragrances that I create are based on personal memories or musings and nothing makes me happier than to introduce people to my world through the fragrances I create. The fact that so many people have taken the time to write to me or leave a post on a blog about connecting with my fragrances and relating to the stories has been overwhelming. I thank each and every one of you for your love and support.

I’m planning on writing on this blog about once a month for now. So until next month I wish you,

Fragrant Dreams,

Neil
